John Francis Schneider, 75, of New London, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at home. Born on August 9, 1949 in Lorain County, he was the son of the late Julius and Genevieve (nee Klingshirn) Schneider. John spent his youth in North Ridgeville, where he attended St. Peters through middle school and graduated from North Ridgeville High School. Following graduation, he joined and proudly served in the United States Navy.

While in the Navy John became an electrician. Following his discharge he returned to North Ridgeville and worked for NASA. He was on one of the first crew with their windmill program, creating some of the worlds largest wind turbines. In 1979 John eventually settled in California where he raised his family and started his own business, Schneider Electric. In 2011 he moved back to Ohio, making his home in New London. John was a member of the Eagles, the VFW, and Elks clubs. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing. As a youth he enjoyed wrestling. John was an avid race fan, especially dirt track. He began sponsoring his good friend Paul and eventually started helping his son CoDee in his racing career.

Survivors include his children, Emily (Ralph) Corona, and Kimberly (Ryan) Chapman, both of Hanford California, and CoDee Schneider, of New London; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Alicia, Alexa, Isaiah, Ciara, and Jayden; great grandchildren, Laylynn, Ryder, Maddox, Rivers, Drake, and Everhett; and a brother, James "Jim" Schneider, of North Ridgeville. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Lois Bramwell.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, May 24, from 4-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London.
