John "Duke" Schubert, 77, of Wellington, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018. Born on January 14, 1941 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Isabelle Rosalie (nee Marasco) and John William Schubert. A graduate of West High in Cleveland, Duke lived most of his life in the Cleveland area before moving to Wellington. Duke retired from St. Alexis Hospital in Cleveland where he was a painter. He was an avid fisherman and in his younger years enjoyed camping. He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Emma (nee Yoders) Schubert; children, John Duke Schubert, James Irvin Schubert, both of Wellington, Robert William Schubert (Rosanne), of Sullivan, Sandra Rosalie Schubert and Laura Jean Slys (Matt), of Elyria; grandchildren; Sara, Robert, Renee and James; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Logan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra. There will be no public services.
