Johnny Damron, 93, of New London, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home. He was born on August 19, 1920, in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late James and Martha (Kidd) Damron. He will be dearly missed by his children, William Damron of Yuma, Arizona, Glenn (Sandy) Damron of Clarksfield, Sue Fannin of New London, Betty (Mike) Kroumholtz of Greenwich, Kathy (Charles) Harvey of New London, Virginia (Harold) Case of New London and Vanie Damron of New London; numerous grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Vannie Mae; son, James Damron and siblings, Willie Damron, Ed Damron, Norman Damron, Delcie Dudley, Milford Damron and Sylvia McKinney. Johnny's family will greet friends from 12 pm until the 2 pm service on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London with Ricky Branham officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery.
