Joseph P.L 'Joe' Asmus, 21, life long resident of New London, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born September 22, 1987 in Oberlin. Joe was a 2007 graduate from New London High School and was attending Kaplan College. He worked at MTD of Willard. Joe was a member of the FFA and Barrett's Chapel of New London. He enjoyed tractors, guns, family, friends and his nieces. Survivors include parents, Paul and Cindy (nee Roberts) Asmus of New London; sisters, Jennifer (Justin) Dotson and Colby Asmus both of New London; and 2 nieces, Kalease Dotson and Kenzie Dotson. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Janis Roberts of New London and Arlene Merkly of Willard; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gary Roberts in 2001 and David Asmus in 1999. Visitation will be held Friday, September 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London and services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery.
