Joseph W. Carney, of North Fairfield, OH, went home to be with the Lord, on May 25, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 19, 1955, in Willard Ohio to Joseph and Mary (Androsac) Carney. He graduated from Willard Hs and Pioneer in 1974. He worked at MTD in Willard.
Joe enjoyed spending his time mowing his yard, watching old westerns and listening to classic rock. Most of all he loved seeing his grandchildren and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife & partner of 29 years, Alma (Oney) Carney; daughter Jennifer Carney, of Pompano Beach, FL, Jess (Luke) Jackson, of Elyria, Jaimee (Randy) Fannin, of North Fairfield; grandchildren, Rylee Hopkins, Abygail Fannin, Nolan and Dylan Jackson. He is also survived by his sister, Diane (Frank) Anderson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy Starcher and husband Richard, of Greenwich, OH, Regina Noble, of Greenwich, OH, Regina Whitaker, of Willard, Lanny Whitaker and wife B.J., of Ashland, OH, Sally Oney, of Blairsville, GA, Rita Bowling and husband Dee, of New London, OH, LaDonna Hicks, of Clyde, OH and April Graves and husband Ron, of New Bern, NC; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Suzanne (Bill) Krabill, Carolyn (Joel) Van Loo, and Geraldine (Paul) Weiss; and brother Jack (Betty) Carney; nieces, Kimberly Long, Cheryl Krabill, Samantha Rowe, and Deanna Bowling; and nephews, Clark Anderson, Claude Whitaker and Jordan Hicks.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 2, from 2 p.m. until the time of services beginning at 4 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. There will be a memorial dinner held at the Fitchville Grange following the service. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
