Joseph Carmen Danesi, 68, of Wellington died on December 10, 2025, at Autumn Aegis in Lorain following a short illness. He was born on February 20, 1957, and was part of the Wellington community for most of his life. Joe was a member of the Wellington VFW chapter, a graduate of the Lorain County JVS, and worked alongside his family in the heating and air conditioning business.
Joe's life was defined by spirited curiosity, adventure, and mischievous spontaneity that kept his friends and family on their toes. Some of the most treasured memories of Joe come from his childhood days at the family cabin on the Black River — fishing on misty mornings, boating along the water, and daring each other to swing and jump from the old rope into the river.
It is impossible to remember Joe without recalling his remarkable talent for unicycling. The iconic sight of him confidently navigating one of his towering nine-foot-plus unicycles through Wellington — sometimes with his little brother Mike on his shoulders — perfectly captures his daring and spirited nature.
Joe had a gift for sharing the things he loved with others, from the game of darts to HVAC skills and the arts of wood burning and unicycling. He was always ready to teach a skill or lend a hand and his legacy lives on in the memories of those he loved.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Delores (Carpino) Danesi. He is survived by his sons Charles and Joseph (Samantha), grandchildren Rianna, Joseph Jr., Henry, Madeline, Vincent, and Dominic; and siblings Carl (Lindsay) Danesi, Linda (Jeff) Welko, Mike (Roz) Danesi, Cindy (Charlie) Calanni.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, December 17 from 4-7pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. A Service will be held on Thursday, December 18 beginning at 11 am also at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
