Norwalk, Ohio – Joseph L. Fries, 75, of Monroeville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 in his home.  He was born on May 18, 1944 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Donald and Ida (Phillips) Fries.  Joe was a 1962 graduate of St. Paul High School.  He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, which he took great pride in.

Joe worked for and retired from Maple City Ice Company in Norwalk.  He married Mary Ann Charville on August 26, 1972 and they had five daughters together.  He enjoyed watching his daughters and grandchildren all play sports over the years for the Monroeville Eagles.  Yet he remained an avid St. Paul Flyer Fan!

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; daughters, Megan (Mathew) Meisler, Sarah Fries, Bethany (David) Reiber, Abigail (Timothy) Wise and Emily (Kyle) Sommer; grandchildren, Army PFC Luke Meisler, Sydney Meisler, Madison and Brandon Reiber, Braylee, Jaxyn and Beckett Wise, Layne Neuberger, Charli and Franki Sommer; brothers Bernard (Karen) Fries, Thomas (Linda) Fries, Kenneth (Carol) Fries, Michael Fries; sister, Mary Niedzwiecki; brothers-in-law, Jon (Candace) Charville, Thomas (Dolores) Charville; sister-in-law, Susan (Joseph) Dickman, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law William Charville.

Friends may call on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St Norwalk, Ohio.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville, Ohio with        Fr.
