Joseph Galaszewski, 78, of Spencer and formerly of Chatham, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024. On February 1, 1946, Joe was born to the late Walter and Mary Galaszewski and grew up in Cleveland.

For 4 years, Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Vietnam. He then served an additional 26 years in the Air National Guard.

Joe worked in the Safety Department for U.S. Steel for 30 years. In his retirement years, He worked as a custodian for both Cloverleaf and Mapleton School Districts.

Joe was a member of the former Chatham VFW and attended St. Patrick Catholic Parish in Wellington. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.

His daughter, Jodi (Greg), and son, Mathew, are left to cherish his memory; as well as two brothers, Ralph Mitchell and Edward Guckiean as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Guckiean.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park with Military honors. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
