Obituary

Joseph J. Kovar, Jr., 70, of Wellington, died June 22, 2009 at EMH Regional Medical Center of Elyria after a sudden illness. Born May 21, 1939 in Mayfield Heights to the late Joseph F. and Mary (Glavic) Kovar. He lived in Wellington for over 40 years. Joseph worked for Ford Motor in Lorain for 39 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the N.R.A. and served in the United States Army. Joseph was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. He was known for his story telling. Joseph also loved to cook and bake cookies. He especially loved his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Peggy J. Kovar; children, Eric (Rhaelynn) DeArmon, and Karen (Kevin) McKenzie both of Wellington; 10 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Richard Kovar of New London and James Kovar of Amherst; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 10th at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Pastor Tom Keller officiating. Memorials if desired may be made to the Community Cancer Center, attn: Wendy, 41201 Schadden Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
