Obituary

Joseph J. McCaskey, 73, of Wellington died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at his home after an illness of 4 years. Born on December 26, 1939 to the late Joseph D. and Lorena (nee Bierman) McCaskey, Joseph spent his childhood in Avon. He attended and graduated form Avon High School. Joseph later moved to North Ridgeville where he lived until retiring to Wellington 8 years ago. Joseph was an outdoor engineer for GTE and a farmer. He retired from GTE in 1992 but continued to enjoy farming and gardening. Joseph was a member of the Wellington VFW, Wellington Eagles, the Farm Bureau, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wellington. He also enjoyed to play cards. Joseph is survived by his wife of 48 years Shirley (nee Thome) McCaskey, Children Barbara (David) Bring of Elyria, John (Donna) Reising of Penfield, and Richard Reising of North Ridgeville, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Joyce (Jay) Pleines and Lorena Buchs as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, January 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington and from 10 until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 512 North Main St. Wellington, Fr.
