Joseph James Sikora, 87, of Wellington, has gone to meet the Lord and his wife on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Born in Maynard, Ohio on August 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Anna Mae (nee Gronski) and Joseph Charles Sikora. Joseph had proudly served in the U.S. Navy. A lifelong resident of Wellington, he had retired from the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant after 30 years, and enjoyed 30 more years of retirement. He was also involved with the First Baptist Church of Wellington and was a member of the Red Barn Riders Motorcycle Group. Joseph was an avid Cleveland sports fan and in the 60's worked on the grounds crew for the Indians. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, repairing bikes and being outdoors. Joseph leaves behind his children, James Michael (Shirley) Sikora, of Wakeman, Louise Ann (Alan) Pasadyn, of Huron, Christopher Charles (Teresa) Sikora, of Elyria, Sharon Merle (Perry) Norton, of Wellington, Rebecca Marie (Roy) Shonkwiler, of New London and Victoria Alice Sikora, of Lorain; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Sikora, Rose Sines and Phil Sikora; he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Sikora; brothers, Emil, Billy and Michael; and sister, Betty Andrews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 28, 2019 to celebrate the life of Joseph Sikora at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.Thomas Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Wellington, 152 Grand Avenue, Wellington, OH 44090.
