Joseph M. Stafirski, Jr., 66, of New London, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk after a brief illness. He was born December 28, 1948, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
He lived in the Wellington and New London areas most of his life. Joseph was very proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Street Dept in Wellington for several years and Shiloh Industries as a tow motor operator. Joseph enjoyed history, especially the Civil War era, hunting, guns, fishing and Cleveland Browns football.
He is survived by his children, Monica (Neil) Bryant and Ross Stafirski; mother, Imogene (Kornprobst) Stafirski; 3 grandchildren, Courtney Miszczak, Dylan Bryant and Jasmine Stafirski and siblings, Bambi Stafirski, Cindy Broome and Heidi Charlton. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Stafirski, Sr. in 2005.
A Celebration of Joseph's life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, October 24, 2015 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 S. Main St, Wellington with Rev. Brian Burke officiating. Memorials can be given to Vietnam Veterans Chapter #774, Erie County Chapter, 508 Michigan Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870.
