Josephine Gearhart, 82, of Shiloh, died Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born on August 28, 1939, in Hippo, KY, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Bertha (nee Hughes) Hicks.

Josephine retired from Midwest Industries after 42 years. She was a long time member of the Greenwich First Baptist Church. Josephine enjoyed going camping, attending bluegrass festivals, and going on shopping trips. She had a deep love for animals and supported the Human Society. Josephine especially cherished her family who will remember her as the Queen-Bee.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Denzil Gearhart; daughter Vicky (Dale) Strong, of Shiloh; granddaughter, Chanda (Aaron) Goon, of Shiloh; great grandchildren Avery, Allison and Kalee ;  siblings, Wanda Neeley, of Plymouth, Lillian Hale, of Plymouth, Francis Hicks, of Greenwich, Ruth Oney, of Greenwich, Arlene Adkins, of Shelby and Harold Hicks of Plymouth,. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her siblings, Catherine Whitaker, Alva Luna, Mitchell Hicks, and Paul Hicks.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, February 28, from 4-8 p.m. at the Greenwich First Baptist Church, 96 Townsend Rd, where services will be held on Tuesday, beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Gary Adkins will officiate, and burial will follow at Ninevah Cemetery. Donations in Josephine's memory may be directed to the First Baptist Church.
