Joyce Chaffins (75) of New London, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at UH Samaritan Hospital, Ashland.  She was born September 8, 1946, in Honaker, KY to the late Anna (Akers) and Orville Blevins.

Joyce was a 1964 graduate of New London High School.  She worked at the Laurels of New London as a dietitian.  She loved going to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending their sporting events, and spending time with her dog: Hope.

Joyce was married on September 5, 1964, for 57 years to Merle Chaffins of New London, they have 3 sons: Darren (Barb) Chaffins of New London, Barry (Karen) Chaffins of Norwalk and Eric Chaffins of New London, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and Joyce's sister: Sue (Gordon) Staschke of Greenwich. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Charles and Donald Blevins and infant sister: Phyllis Blevins.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Grove Street Cemetery, New London.  Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London assisted the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com
