Joyce Patricia Jordan, 62, of Elyria died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her home. On April 20, 1954, Joyce was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Henry and Rita (nee Kuznik) Ligman. She grew up in Sheffield Lake and attended St. Theresa. In 1972, Joyce graduated from Brookside High School. Joyce worked for many years at Fisher Foods. She retired in 1999 from Rini Rego. Joyce had a big heart; she volunteered with the Salvation Army for a long time. She also worked in New Orleans for 10 days volunteering after Hurricane Katrina. She loved children and found great joy in babysitting her nieces and nephews. Joyce really enjoyed spoiling them and then sending them home. She truly was the life of any gathering. Survivors include her loving husband, Jeffery, whom she married in 1978; siblings, Connie Bonnes, of Medina, Charlie Ligman, of Stow and Mary Jo Graf, of Medina. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Rev. David Trask officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. In lieu of flowers, the Jordan family suggests memorial donations to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035 or to a children's charity of the donor's choice.
