Norwalk, Ohio - Joyce Whitehead, 85, went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, June 29, 2018. She was born on March 23, 1933, in Manchester, Kentucky. Joyce lived in the area since 1955 and worked for General Motors where she retired in 1988. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Norwalk, Ohio, and loved to go shopping, out to eat with her best friend Margie Payne, going to church, and studying the Bible. She is survived by her son, Roy (Vivian) Whitehead, by her daughter, Bobbie (Matthew) Kean, both of Norwalk, Ohio, by her brothers, Ray and Terry (Cora) Gregory, of Manchester, Kentucky, by her daughter in-law, Barb Whitehead, of Norwalk, Ohio, by her brother in-law, Taft Shell, of Norwalk, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Whitehead, in 2012, by her son, Harold Wayne Whitehead, in 2016, and by her sister, Ruth Shell, in 2012. Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents, Estill Gregory, in 2000, and Linda Gregory, in 1974. Friends may call on Thursday, August 2, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Pastor Ken Hiser of Faith Memorial Church, Sandusky, Ohio will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery following the funeral service.
