Judith A. Ux

Judith A. Ux, 78, of New London, Ohio, died on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Gaymont Care Center, Norwalk, with her family by her side. She was born on March 20, 1947 in Dekalb, IL, the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Doris (Reynolds) Huggins.

After graduation, she moved to the Cleveland area before settling in New London around 1973. In her early years Judith was employed by Sunrise Cooperative. She was a bus driver for New London Local School for 24 years and also spent some time working at the New London School Cafeteria. Working alongside her children, she was actively involved in the 4-H program. She attended many horse shows where she provided guidance and support to her family and others attending the show. Judith found great joy in being outdoors; she was always helping on the family farm, took time to watch for hummingbirds and loved her dachshunds. Lighthouses held a special place in her heart, she loved visiting them and collecting them. She was a huge support to her family, especially her grandchildren and was always there for them.

Judith is survived by her children, Tim (Beth) Houghtby of Natchitoches, LA, Brian (Mary) Houghtby of Crestline, OH, John (Annette) Ux II of Greenwich, OH and Heather (Ted) Ux of New London, OH; grandchildren, Brielle, Jesamie, Adria, Maleah, Emmalyn, Matthew, Aubrey and Megan; great-grandchildren, Zayla, Brixyn, Hazel, Fisher and Penryn; her brother, James (Kim) Huggins of Seneca, IL.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W Main Street, New London, OH and again on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. She will be laid to rest at the Day Cemetery, New London at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2508 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH 43615.
