Obituary

'Karl W. Hassa, age 84, of Wellington, died Saturday morning, July 5, 2008 at EMH, Elyria.' He was born January 9, 1924 in Huntington. Mr. Hassa was a milk truck driver in the 1940's.'' He loved to haul milk.' Mr. Hassa had been a truck driver most of his life.'' He retired from the Ohio Turnpike Maintenance Dept.'' He was a life member of the Wellington Eagles Aerie 2051, the Wellington American Legion Post 8, the former Rat Patrol and the Golden Crescent Alert CB Club. He loved boating on Lake Erie, loved and thoroughly enjoyed going to the Lorain County Fair , he also enjoyed reading, watching TV, especially game shows, camping, and doing crossword puzzles. ' He is survived by his wife Virginia Faith (Ray) Hassa whom he married in September 1956; his daughter, Debbie (Dean) Baker of Wellington; his granddaughter, Deanna Mae Baker of Wellington; 2 brothers, Robert Dague of California and Richard Hassa of Parma; his sister, Mildred Streng of South Carolina.'' He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Dean Hassa in 1994, his mother, Lillian (Schwan) Hassa Dague and his father, Richard Hassa,'his brother, Art Dague and his infant sister, Freda Hassa. Friends may call from 7 ' 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Norton ' Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral with Pastors Jack Kiskaden, Christine Bell and Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at the Brighton Cemetery. '
