Obituary

Katherine Anne "Kay" (nee Martin) Gray, 91, of Wellington, passed away on Tuesday evening at Keystone Pointe after a brief stay. She was born on January 5, 1923 in Amherst to the late Harland and Matilda (nee Weber) Martin. She was a 1940 graduate of Kenmore High School in Kenmore New York. She then attended the Rochester Art Institute and eventually moved to Wellington in 1947. Katherine was a very community-minded person and was very involved with the town of Wellington; she was an auxiliary member of the Eagles, the VFW, and the American Legion. Kay also belonged to the Women's Afternoon Club, the Historical Society, the Friends of the Herrick Memorial Library, and the United Methodist Women. Katherine was a talented artist and worked with the medium of pen and ink. She cherished her family and loved to cook for her family's gatherings. Katherine is survived by her sons, Tom (Barb) Gray of Wellington and Mike (Cathy) Gray of Minneapolis; grandchildren, David of Minneapolis, Meredith Gray Fischer of Bowie, and Michelle Fedor of LaGrange; great grandchildren, Anna Fischer, and Evander, Emory, and Marin Fedor; and a sister Judy Stark of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph W. Gray in 2005, and a sister Margaret Williams. A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
