Katherine Whitaker, age 75, of Greenwich, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Kingston of Ashland. She was born December 20, 1935 in Hippo, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clifford and Bertha (Hughes) Hicks. Katherine moved to Greenwich in 1950. She had worked at Midwest Industries in Willard for 17 years, retiring in 1973. Katherine was a member of the Noble Road United Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Cles) Inmon and Barb (Lanny) Keysor all of Greenwich; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; her siblings, Josephine (Denzil) Gearhart of Shiloh, Wanda (Ralph) Neely, Lillian (Sam) Hale and Harold (Irene) Hicks all of Plymouth, Frances (Johnnie) Hicks, Ruth Oney, Mitchell (Jane) Hicks, Paul (Renee) Hicks all of Greenwich, Arlene (Gary) Adkins of Shelby; she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Whitaker and her sister, Alva Luna. Friends may call from 2 ' 4 and 6 ' 8 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, 96 Townsend St., Greenwich where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Pastors Delmer Bailey and S.T. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
