Obituary

Kathi Lynne Sutton, 65, of Wellington, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 5, 2022. Born in Cleveland on November 24 (or November 23, depending on who you ask), 1956, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Betsy (nee Farnsworth) Jenkins. Kathi grew up in the Medina County area before making Wellington her home in 1996. Kathi valued dedication and hard work. She thrived in the service industry, as a server, bar tender, and manager. In 2009 she realized her dream, and opened the Red Iron Bar and Grille in Wellington alongside her husband, Michael "Red". Kathi was a lover of the outdoors;  she had an awe for the smallest of things in nature and would light up when she noticed a bird, a flower, a tree, a beautiful sky, or the moon. She loved going out to dinner and trying new and different food. She was always a sucker for pull-tabs. Kathi was a giver with a generous heart, always trying to put others first, striving to understand and appreciate those who lived on the fringe of society, the underdogs, and outcasts.  Most of all she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother and cherished spending time with her family. Kathi is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 22 years, Red Sutton; children, Andrea Peterman, of West Salem, Nichole Jenks (Samuel), of New Zealand, and Cody Brown (Rylee), of Seville; grandchildren, Riley (Josh), Sydney, Mae, Max, Olive, Kaiden, Eston, and Marilyn; great grandchildren, Bella and Cece; siblings, Jon, Chas, and David Jenkins, Susan Battig, and Laura Saunders. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Terry Jenkins. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 12-2 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington, 44090. Celebration of life to follow at American Legion Pavillion, 518 S. Main Street, Wellington. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathi's memory may be directed to Well-Help Inc.  or Toys for Tots. Condolences for the Sutton family may be expressed at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
