Keith Thomas Kiser, SSG, U.S. Army, 41, formerly of Wellington, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 surrounded by his family after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born on July 31, 1971 in Cleveland to Karen (nee Smith) and the late Thomas G. Kiser. Keith was a 1990 graduate of Keystone High School. Following high school Keith joined the United States Army.
Keith served 21 years of active duty service and received a Bronze Star Medal. Keith was awarded multiple campaign medals and awards for deployments and support to his country.
Keith was a very outgoing person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially grilling out. He liked motorcycles and was very proud of his truck.
Keith is survived by his mother Karen Kiser of Penfield; brothers Steve (Danielle) of Spencer, Kenny (Brenda) of Sullivan, and Danny of Penfield; and nephew and nieces Caleb, Hayley, Abbey, Kaiden, and Emily. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents Gilbert and Edith Kiser and Albert and Dolores Smith.
Friends and family will be received on Monday April 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington where services will be held on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. with Rev. Larry Rickey officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
