Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Adams, 84, Of Galena, Ohio, formerly of Wellington, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 following a courageous 22-year battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born on May 5, 1929 in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Oren Leroy and Delta Mae (nee Rohrer) Adams. Kenneth was a 1947 graduate of Wellington High School and a 1953 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. He was a member of the ROTC in college and later served in the United States Air Force as a lieutenant medical supply officer. After leaving the military, Kenneth spent 29 years as pharmacist of Adams Pharmacy, which he owned and operated. He then spent ten years as a pharmacist/manager for the Big Bear grocery chain. At home he enjoyed indoor and outdoor projects, watching OSU football and basketball, and PGA Golf. His hobbies included antiquing, landscaping, and tending to his garden. He enjoyed classical music and trips with his family to Colonial Williamsburg. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice (nee Bishbaugh) Adams, children, Eugene Adams of Galena, Valorie Adams-Hildreth of Columbus (James David), and Kristy Adams of Galena; his brother-in-law John Kaufman, his aunt Metomah Saxon, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Oren Adams, mother Delta Mae Adams, sister Shirley Kaufman, father-in-law Charles Bishbaugh, mother-in-law Mary Bishbaugh, sister-in-law Isabel Nolte, as well as several aunts and uncles. A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Condolences may be directed online at norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com. Donations may be made in memory of Kenneth E.
