Obituary

Kenneth B. Rumsey, age 82, of New London, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk after a sudden illness. He was born September 28, 1925 in New London, son of the late Frank and Margaret (Burk) Rumsey. Mr. Rumsey was a lifelong resident of New London. He was a 1943 graduate of New London High School. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He owned and operated with his father, the Rumsey Machine Shop in New London for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Annabelle (Lee) Rumsey; his son, John Rumsey of LaGrange; his daughter, Barbara Hardy of Norwalk; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marion Snyder Wonders; 3 brothers, Jack, Thomas and Lawrence Rumsey. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London with the funeral service being held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening with Rev. Doug Lang pastor of the New London Alliance Church officiating. Private burial will take place at Grove Street Cemetery on Friday. Memorials if desired may be given to the donors favorite charity.
