Kenneth J. Somerville, 80, of Ashland died Thursday, August 3, 2017. Born on May 23, 1937 in Cherrytree PA, he was the son of the late Horace and Ruby (nee Sebring) Somerville.
Ken retired from Nagel Manufacturing in Cleveland after 14 years, prior to that he had worked in construction as a Forman and for 29 years worked as a Penatron. In 1993 he moved to Ashland and built his home, which he was very proud of and enjoyed to tinker with throughout the years. Ken enjoyed bluegrass music and would travel around to various bluegrass festivals and concerts.
Survivors include his children Ronald (Peggy) Somerville, Thomas (Lisa) Somerville, Candy (Kevin) Haan, Edward Somerville, and Mary Truslow; 8 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and half sister Marilyn. Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Terry, his brother Warren "Bud" Somerville, half brothers Dean, Bliss, and Robert Somerville, and step brother Butch.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 10, from 4-7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where services will be held on Friday at 11am, burial will follow at Sullivan South View Cemetery.
