Obituary

Kenneth P. Twining, 61, of Sullivan, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 under the care of Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland. Born in Oberlin on November 5, 1951, Kenneth was a son of the late Roy and Margaret (nee VonKamp) Twining. He graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1970, obtained an Associate's Degree in Business and moved to Sullivan in the early 1970s. Kenneth worked for the Ashland Sheriff's Department and the Greenwich Police Department. He also worked at the Super K in Medina and the Ohio Fuel Stop in Sullivan. Kenneth proudly served on the Sullivan Volunteer Firefighter Department. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and reading westerns. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan (nee Sprinkle), whom he married in 1978; children, Raymond (Denise) Twining, of Orrville and Stephanie (Michael) Leathem, of Norwalk; 2 grandchildren, Ryan and Haylea Twining and 4 step grandchildren. Kenneth was also survived by brothers, Rick, of Galion, Michael, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jerry, of West Salem. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington and on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Steve Carmany officiating. Burial will follow at Huntington Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Sullivan Fire and Rescue Association, P.O.
