Kevin “Lucky” Speicher

Wellington

With heavy hearts, we announce Kevin “Lucky” Speicher, 51, of Clarksfield, Ohio, passed away August 22, 2026, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and so much more to the people whose lives he touched.

He was a wonderful husband, an amazing father, a softball coach, musician, and friend. He was the kind of person who could turn an ordinary evening into a memory, whether it was sitting around a campfire, working in the yard, playing music, laughing with friends, or simply spending time with his family. He found joy in woodworking, gardening, camping, and, most of all, being surrounded by the people he loved. He was a proud Steelers fan and never needed much more than a cold drink, a Steelers game, good music, and the company of the people he loved to be happy. These simple things were part of what made him who he was, and the memories made in those moments will be treasured by all who knew him.

His chair may be empty, his voice may be quiet, and the campfire may never feel quite the same, but the love, laughter, and memories he created will remain.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Jennifer Nau-Speicher; sons Kyle and Evin, and daughter Kaitlyn Speicher; brothers Scott (Bobbie Jo) Speicher, Brian “Spike” (Shelly) Speicher, and William Speicher; sister Jill (Matt) Miller; father James Speicher; brothers-in-law James (April) Nau and Corey (Alexandra) Nau; mother-in-law Sarah Nau; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean (Winfield) Speicher, and his father-in-law, James “Jim” Nau.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, August 28 from 4 until 7 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 am.

In true Kevin fashion, he would probably have kept things simple. No long speeches, no fuss, just the people he loved, a cold drink, a Steelers game, some good music, and a few stories around the fire.

And if Kevin had the last word, it would probably be the words he lived by:

“It is what it is.”

And somehow, we can hear him saying it now.
