Kim R. Paynter, 51, of Wakeman, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Cleveland Metro Hospital, following a sudden illness.  Kim was born on June 29, 1973, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Allan and Vicki (Ordway) Burt.

A resident of the area for the past 20 years, Kim married James Paynter on March 24, 2006, and they have shared 24 years together raising their five children.  She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, swimming, gardening, and mowing her lawn.  A lifelong animal lover, she always had a special place in her heart for cats, which were a constant presence in her home.  Kim was a member of the Wakeman Congregational Church.

Left to cherish her memory, Kim is survived by husband, James Paynter; children, Ryan Thomas of Greenwich, Robyn Thomas of Lorain, Shane Paynter of Greenwich, Travis Paynter of North Fairfield and Sammantha Paynter of Defiance; 11 grandchildren who were the light of her life; parents, Allan and Vicki Burt of Oakwood; siblings, Jennifer (Chris) Pitman of Florida, Sara (Daniel) Sparks of Defiance, Josh (Megan) Burt of South Carolina.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W.
