Klement Newness, 88, of Ruggles, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Norwalk Memorial Home. He was born on May 13, 1922 in Cleveland to the late Edward and Della (Chamberland) Newness. Klement lived most of his life in Maple Heights and moved to Ruggles Township in 1990.
He worked as a painter in Cuyahoga County and was a life member of the Painters Local 867, district 6 in Cleveland. Klement served during WWII in the United States Army Combat Engineers 278. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends for many years.
Survivors include his loving friend, Lois Swaney; children, Randy A. (Beverley) Newness of Hartland Township, Sharon (Ray) Snably of VA, Pamela J. Newness of VA, Gregg W. (Terri) Newness of Norton, OH; grandchildren, Heather, Jason (Amanda), Matthew and Kerry; great grandson, Nolan; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Klement was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 17th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Cathy Ake officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
