Kristina Kaye (Smuck) Sellers was born September 27, 1967, in Bluffton, Indiana. Surviving are her husband, David Sellers, and children Cardin, Reece, and Casteel. Also surviving are her mother, Sonja (Cardin) Buckler; father, William Harold Smuck, wife Ronda (Winger); brother Dr. Matthew Smuck, wife Dr. Kamala Rodrigues and children Nayan and Asher; sister Kari (Smuck) Nelson, husband Bret.

Kristi lived her life with exuberant joy and service to others. In eighth grade, she gave her heart to Jesus at church camp. She then surprised her parents by raising enough money for a mission trip to Haiti. That trip began a life of serving others through Jesus.

In 1991 she married her ever-lovin' David Sellers. After graduating from nursing school with a BSN, she worked in pediatric units for most of her career. She also ran pediatric clinics in South Bend, Indiana, for patients with cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and asthma-related illnesses. Then in 1997, much to her surprise, she became a mom. Her love for her children soon became another passion and purpose in life. She loved her family fiercely, almost as much as her Savior, Jesus Christ. If you met Kristi, you know her joy was in Jesus, and His love for others became her own. In 2007 she followed her husband into full-time ministry in Christian camping. For the last ten years, she has served as the Health Officer and Food Service Director at Camp Patmos on Kelleys Island in Ohio.

In 2010 breast cancer became part of her journey. She used this diagnosis as a platform to give praise and glory to God every step of the way. Philippians 1:21 became her daily mediation. "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." She lived her life with full faith in Jesus and became His instrument. In September 2022, her health rapidly declined, and God began to whisper to her the other side of that verse, "to die is gain" and prepared her to come home to heaven. On October 21, early in the morning, Kristi peacefully went to meet her Savior with her husband and family by her side.

Visitation with her family will be on November 12 from 9:00 am to 12:00 at Substance Church, 101 W South St., Ashland, OH. A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon, with a meal to follow. On Sunday, November 13, a graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm at Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by check to The Piggyback Foundation, P.O.
