Lance R. O'Dell, 61, of New London, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Cleveland. He was born August 12, 1955, son of the late Lyle and Lois (Cowan) O'Dell. Lance attended St. Paul School and was a 1973 graduate of Norwalk High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1980. Lance had been in the construction industry most of his life most recently working for Hy-Times Construction. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, and was a master artist with adult coloring books. His true joy came from being "Papa", spending time with his grandchildren and family, and living on "the ranch" . He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Beth (nee Cawrse) O'Dell; step-sons, Zachary (Kate) Parr and Carl (Dawn) Parr; grandchildren, Ashley, Draven, Faith, Aubrey and Camden; sisters, Linda (Tom) Fries and Louise O'Dell; brothers, Larry O'Dell and Lyle (Ana) O'Dell; sister-in-law, Susan (Jeff Montgomery) Bilton; many nieces, nephews, friends and other family members. In keeping with Lance's wishes, services will be private.
