Lanny Bryant, 67, of Ashland, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning April 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 24, 1951 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late John Henry and Bessie (nee Dye) Bryant. Lanny moved to Ohio when he was 13, and had attended Wellington High School. Lanny was a man who devoted his life to his family and the service of others. His kind, selfless nature will be forever admired, fondly remembered, and greatly missed. He loved his grandchildren, liked old cars and enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He was a self-taught musician who could sing and play the guitar and drums. He married the love of his life Debra (nee Brady) in 1975 and they shared 43 wonderful years together. Lanny had worked as a roofer and tool and die maker at Spencer Tool and Die and had been a driver for Firelands Ambulance Service. Most recently, he and Debra had ran a DJ and Karaoke Service, which he really enjoyed. In addition to his wife Debra, Lanny is survived by their children, Tina Garton of Creston, OH, LaNelle Williams of New London, OH, Michael Bryant of Ashland, OH and Rachel Bryant of Ashland, OH; grandchildren, J.T. Garton, David Garton, Megan Bryant, Reghan Williams, Jarett Williams, Grace Bryant, Madison Williams and Ayden Bryant; Siblings, Hillas Bryant, Delbert Bryant, Skip Bryant, Penny Hess and Tammy Lapham; he is also survived by JR Garton, a great grandson (on the way). In addition to his parents, Lanny was preceded in death by his son, Nathan "Nate" Bryant and sister, Pam Mitchell. Calling hours will be Friday, April 20, from 5-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, and again Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. followed by services at noon with burial immediately following at Grove Street Cemetery, New London. Donations may be given to Eastman Funeral Home in care of the family.
