Larry Dean Bailey

Larry Dean Bailey, 79, of Willard, Ohio, originally from McDowell, Kentucky, passed away at home on September 15, 2026, with his loving bride by his side.

Larry was born March 25, 1947, to the late Grover Bailey and Ruby (Tackett) Bailey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later spent 30 years working at Sheller-Globe/Mayflower before retiring. He was a member of Greenwich Baptist Church and a man whose strong faith in God remained an important foundation throughout his life.

On December 16, 1966, Larry married the love of his life, Lola Inmon Bailey. For nearly 60 years, they built a life together centered around faith, family, loyalty and a love that remained steadfast until his final moments. Larry was, above all else, a devoted and loving husband to Lola, and the life and family they built together was his greatest accomplishment.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Lola; his children, Larry Dean Bailey Jr. (Amy) of Stanton, Kentucky, and Leslie Pope, Leonard Bailey and Lisa Bailey, all of Willard, Ohio; and a nephew who was loved and regarded as a fifth child, Clinton Combs of Willard, Ohio.

He was the beloved Papaw of Corey Bailey, Hope Bowen, Caitlin Pope, Jacob Pope, Candice Inglett, Xander Bailey, Dominic Paynter, Isaac Bailey, Levi Paynter and Owen Pope, as well as four great-grandchildren, with one on the way. No matter how old they became, his grandchildren would always be “Papaw’s babies.”

He is also survived by his sisters, Glenita Bailey of Aurora, Indiana, and Renetta (Dwayne) Slone of McDowell, Kentucky; his step-siblings; his sister at heart, Linda Robinson of Willard, Ohio; his brothers-in-law, Billy (Kathy) Inmon of Dandridge, Tennessee, Cles (Betty) Inmon of Greenwich, Ohio, Kenny (Shirl) Inmon of Garrett, Kentucky, and Orville (Jeri) Inmon of Greenwich, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Judy (Dave) Lillo of Willard, Ohio; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Bailey and Ruby (Tackett) Bailey; his stepfather, C.B. Smith; his father-in-law, Andy Inmon; his beloved mother-in-law, Zora Inmon, who held a special place in his heart; his sisters, Sharon (Jimmy) Hall and Sue Bailey; his best friend, Billy Ray Robinson; his brother-in-law, David Inmon; and his nephews, Clinton Collins and Zach Inmon.

To know Larry was to know someone who loved his family fiercely. He was a dedicated son, the most dependable brother, a friend to all and the kind of man his children and grandchildren knew they could always count on. His faith in God guided him, his family came first, and the love and devotion he showed his wife throughout their nearly six decades together gave his children an example of what steadfast love looks like.

And if Larry was in the room, chances are everyone was laughing.

He was quick-witted, effortlessly funny and almost always had something to say that nobody else could have gotten away with. He had a way of making people feel welcome, loved and entertained, usually all at the same time. His humor was simply part of him, and it is impossible to remember Larry without remembering the laughter that followed him.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenwich Baptist Church, 96 Townsend Street, Greenwich, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the church on Friday, September 18, 2026, at noon. Arrangements are being handled by Eastman Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery, 4130 Edwards Road, Greenwich, Ohio.
