LaVaughn Kepler Cope, 94, of Wellington, died at Blue Ridge Christian Home at 10:00 pm on August 20, 2015. She was born on September 9th, 1920 in Wellington, Ohio. LaVaughn graduated from Wellington High School and later attended Ohio University, Newport Rhode Island Business School and Lorain County Community College computer courses. She was a real estate saleswoman and real estate broker for 30 years. Mrs. Cope managed the Village of Wellington's Income Tax Office for 10 years, was the Secretary to the Village of Wellington's Zoning Board and Planning Commission, and was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She is survived by son, Robert J. Cope (Erin), Catharpin, Va.; grandsons Sean Stuart Cope (Anna) Washington, D.C., Troy Kepler Cope (Nicole) Ormond Beach, Fl.; great grandson Cameron Kepler Cope; sister-in-law Betty Faus Kepler; 9 nieces and nephews, plus great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Lt. Edward Cunningham, U.S. Air Force, missing in action over Africa in 1942, parents William A. and Florence (née Cave) Kepler, daughter-in-law Laura Stuart Cope, sister Margery Kepler Young, and brothers Harold Kepler and Russell Kepler. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, August 29, from 10 until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington.
