Lawrence R. Noble, age 97, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 16, 1917, in Shiloh, Ohio, son of the late John and Hazel (Whatman) Noble. Lawrence graduated from Plymouth High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a supervisor for the U.S. Government for 23 years and 12 years at Pioneer Rubber in Willard and Attica.
He loved farming and farm animals. Lawrence enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid reader.
He is survived by his children, Jim Noble of Tucson, Arizona, Lawrence (Judy) Noble, Jr. of Shelby, Edward (Sheri) Noble of Springfield, Missouri, John Noble of Garland, Texas and son, John Lawrence R. Noble of Garland, Texas, Mary (Tom) Riedlinger of Plymouth, Pauline (Rodney) Johnson of Hamden, Ohio, Ellen Therrien of Mansfield, Anna Noble (Judy Paris) of Columbus, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; close and dear friend, Theresa Bilka. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Noble in 2000; son, Paul Edward Noble; brothers, Floyd and John Noble and sister, Helen Springer.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 pm where a wake service will be held at 6 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 117 Sandusky St., Plymouth with Father Jim Sanford and Deacon Fred Stockmaster Pastoral associate officiating. A burial will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials may be given to Community Hospice Care, 181 E. Perry St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.
