Lawrence S. Wells, fondly known as "Doc," died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at MetroHealth in Cleveland. Born on September 30, 1949 to the late Stuart and Beatrice (nee Stokes) Wells in Wellington, Doc was a lifelong Wellington resident and graduate of Wellington High School. Doc earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Akron and served in the United States Navy. He worked as an Insurance Agent for Wells Insurance.
Proud to have been a founding member of the Southern Lorain County Ambulance District, Doc was a paramedic for over a decade. He was involved with the Wellington Cable Commission for a number of years. Every year, Doc loved and participated in the Erie Festival of the Arts. He also volunteered for Pumpkin Patrol for 10 years at Halloween. Service to his community was very important to Doc.
He enjoyed radio communications and liked to tinker with his Ham radio. Doc loved music and played the guitar; he set up audio sound stages for many major groups, including the Grateful Dead. A true "techie" - Doc enjoyed anything with computers. Quite the character, someone once said, "If you asked him the time, he'd tell you how to build a clock."
Doc leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Jeanette (nee Rajner) Wells; brother, Guy Wells; son, Albert Wells; son, Heath (Karen) Schneider and their son Taylor and daughter Morgan; daughter, Heidi (Jim) Perry and their sons Mark Calhoun and Jason Perry and daughter Michelle Perry; and son, Hans Schneider and his son Corbin and daughter Madison.
