L.E. "Cye" Ringler, 92, of Shiloh, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland. He was born January 19, 1923, at the family home in Savannah. Cye lived in Ruggles Township and spent his life in the area. He worked for several different construction companies and also owned and operated Ringler Construction. After retirement he worked at the Rolling Acres Golf Course. In 1958 Cye joined the Eagles in Ashland and was one of the oldest members of the group. The Ringler family has been affiliated with the Ruggles Church for many years. He liked fishing and watching NASCAR. Cye also enjoyed following his grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events. He loved spending time with his family and dear friends. Cye cherished his picturesque farm, John Deere tractor and Gator, and his dog Angel was a loyal companion. Survived by his children, Rick (Micki) Ringler of Nova, Steve (Deb) Ringler of Ashland, E. Bruce Ringler of Shiloh, Ron (Sherry) Ringler of Polk and Betty (Dave) Chapman of West Salem; several grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Brooks Ringler; sister, Alice (George) Walker and sister-in-laws, Jeanette Ringler and Ellen Bruce. Cye was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Robert Ringler; great grandson, Deven Phillips; parents, Cortland and Helen Ringler; brother, Max Ringler; Sisters, Elinor Bruce and Rosemary Ringler; brother-in-law, Carl Bruce and sister-in-law, Ruth Ringler. His family will greet friends from 4-8 pm Friday, September 4, 2015 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a funeral will be held 10:30 am Saturday with Pastor Marty Daly officiating. Burial will follow in Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich.
