Obituary

Lee E. Blair, 82, of Greenwich, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his home. He was born on July 14, 1928 in McGuffey, OH, son of the late Elzie and Connie (Ratliff) Blair. Lee lived in the North Fairfield and Greenwich areas for most of his life. He worked at Akron Standard for 35 years and later retired in 1993 from South Central School as a custodian. Lee was a member of the Greenwich American Legion. He served on the Tri Community Fire Department for 27 years, retiring as first lieutenant and also served as treasurer. Lee was a driver for the Tri Community Ambulance for 15 years and was an auxiliary patrol with the Ohio State Patrol. Lee served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julia E. (Westbrook); children, Roger (Marsha) Blair and Nicki K. Blair both of Greenwich; grandson, Matthew (Rachel) Blair of Greenwich; granddaughter, Lindsay (John) Valentine of Greenwich; great grandson, Kaden Blair; siblings, Elsie May of Norwalk, Arnel (Marlene) Blair of Greenwich, Maudie (Robert) Maye of Greenwich and Caroline (Boyd) Rogers of Oberlin; brother-in-law, Robert (Eileen) Westbrook of WA and numerous nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by his son, William Greenwood; brothers, Ed Blair, Dwane Blair, Rondall Blair and Doug Blair and sister, Alberta Blair. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich and Monday, April 4th from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating. Burial will follow with military rites at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
