Lela B. Simpson, age 61, of New London, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Firelands Regional Medical Center of Sandusky after a short illness. She was born April 1, 1948 to Robert and Vernetta (nee Winterringer) Jenny. Lela lived in the Wakeman area most of her life and New London for the past three years. She worked at Green Circle Growers and worked several years house cleaning for Super 8 and Comfort Inn Motels of Avery. Lela was a member of the former Rat Patrol. She loved to crochet. Survivors include daughters, Subrina (Ron) Logan of Wakeman and April (Dan) Warren of New London; son, Michael Jenny of New London; 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Vernetta Jenny of Geronimo, OK; siblings, Fred Jenny, Roberta Nolan, Charles Mid, Janice Boggs, Tony Mid, Garry Cummings, Willie Cummings and Charlotte Cummings. Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Simpson and father, Robert Jenny. Family services were held.
