Nora Downing (Woods), 77, died Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH.  She was born February 20, 1943 in Bellefontaine, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Downing, her parents, Rev. Hilton and Blanche Woods, her brothers Donald and Robert Woods, sister Melba Springer, and 2 great-grand "angels".

She is survived by her children, Theresa Hall, Becky Hunter, Donald (Bonnie) Downing, Gary (Mandy) Downing, and Dawn Downing.  She has 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Nora was a 1961 graduate of Norwalk High School and a life-long member of The First Church of Christ in Norwalk,  where she was the organist.  She worked at Fanny Farmer in Norwalk until they closed and retired from Pepperidge Farm in Willard.

She was Queen Mum of the Red Hat Delights for many years and the head of the Huron County Women's Republican Club. Nora loved researching genealogy and spending her days at the Senior Enrichment Center in Norwalk and Willard where she taught crochet classes, played games, and socialized with her friends.

In light of COVID-19, the family has decided to postpone her "celebration of life" service until a later date.
