Lila Faye Dininger, 89, of Wellington, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Elms Assisted Living. She was born on July 8, 1922 in Eaton Twp. to the late Claire and Edna (nee Sayers) Durkee.
Lila lived most of her life in the Wellington area and was a graduate of Wellington High School. She worked for a brief time at Forest City and later at Poiner Grocery Store. Lila enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid Cleveland sports fan; she especially loved to root on the Cleveland Indians. Lila volunteered for the Spirit of 76 Museum in Wellington and the Wellington Hospital. Her family and the time she spent with them were also dear to Lila.
Lila is survived by her children Barbara (Rich) Snezek of Lorain and Dennis (Cyndi) Dininger of Polk; grandchildren Brian Snezek, Denise Mulkey, Brittany Becker, Daryl, Eric, and Trevor Dininger; 9 great-grand children; sister Alta June Goss of Brighton, and several nieces and nephews including Dick Durkee. Lila was preceded in death by her loving husband Milo in 1966, brothers Don, Bernard, and Richard Durkee.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
