Lillian Jean Lemke, 83, of Wellington, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at her residence. Born in Lakewood on November 20, 1928 to the late Uffe and Hilda (nee Petersen) Karner, Lillian grew up in Westlake. She was a 1946 graduate of Westlake Dover High School.
She worked at American Greetings and as a supervisor for Ohio Bell in Westlake and Cleveland. Lillian also was the book keeper for Lemke Sales. Lillian enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, and fishing. An exceptional cook and baker, Lillian was known for her chicken and biscuits. She also took care of several foster children through the years.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, John Lemke; children, Karen A. Murray, of Rochester, William (Judy) Lemke, of Wellington, Daniel (Theresa) Lemke, of Rochester; grandchildren, Beth (Chris McConnell) Murray, Laura (Paul) Dowdell, Justin (Kathleen) Lemke, Jennifer Lemke, Amanda Phelps, Brittany (Jason) Potts and Jason Lemke and 8 great grandchildren, John, Lillian, Adele and Adam Dowdell, Hannah, Abigail and Robert Lemke and Sahara Potts. Lillian is also survived by her sister, Kay Ann (Richard) Groff, of Alaska. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debora Jean Lemke; brother, Jack Karner; grandson, Scott William Murray and great granddaughter, Amelia Rose Lemke.
