Lillie Gray (nee Naegele), 94, of Wellington, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Western Reserve Masonic Community. Born in Huntington on October 21, 1917, she spent most of her married life in Wellington. She was a 1935 graduate of Wellington High School and a member a past president of its alumni association. Lillie was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a past president of the church's Women's Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Gray retired from the Library at Westwood School in 1982, beloved by teachers and students. She was a past president of the Wellington Sorosis Club, and the Abbe K. Hand Circle of King's Daughters. She was also a charter member of the Town and Country Club. The Herrick Memorial Library Friends, Temple Chapter O.E.S. and Southern Lorain County Historical Society and the School Employee Retirement Groups also enjoyed her membership and support. Survivors include her daughter, Paula (Alan) Eggleston; two grandchildren, Anthony Eggleston and Suzanne (Matt) Perlik and great granddaughter, Annika Perlik; one sister, Dorotha Preston, of Wellington; three nieces and one nephew. Lillie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 73 years, Paul, earlier this year; parents, John and Hazel (nee Bowen) Naegele and a sister, Nettie West. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturday January 7 from 10 until the time of services beginning at 12, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
