Linda Lou Lucas, 76, of Ashland, died on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at home with her family by her side. Born in Dyess Colony, AR on September 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Myrtle (nee Richardson) and Everett Lucas. She resided in Blytheville, AR before moving to Lorain in 1964. She eventually moved to Huntington where she raised her family and then recently made Ashland her home.
Linda worked as a health aide in various nursing homes and for several families in home health care. She had been a member of Wellington Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in VBS and the many plays they put on when her children were younger. Linda, an avid reader, loved to be outdoors and working in the dirt, weeding her garden. She spent her time fishing, gardening, canning food and sewing quilts for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Belinda Lilly-Yancer, of Ashland, Suzanne (Jim) Lilly-Cain, of West Salem, Cathy (Gino) Lilly-Nardo, of Valley City, Rogena Lilly, of Wellington and Stephanie Lilly, of Ashland; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; her twin brother, Larry; and brothers, Ernest, Eddie, and Jerry Lucas. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Roger Lilly; sisters, Bonita (Bobbie) Craig, Pauline Stafford, Mildred Fisher, Bertha Rodgers, Neda (Florine) Vincent, Susie Carner, and brother, Elbert Lucas.
A private family graveside service will take place at a later date at Huntington Township Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Penfield Township Hall, 41012 State Route 18, Wellington, OH 44090 from 2-6 pm.
