Linzie is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sally Ann Oney (Selman); his son, Jason Joseph Oney, and his wife, Anna Maria Oney (Linzie's favorite daughter-in-law), of Gainesville, Georgia; and his cherished grandson, Stetson Conway Oney, who was his greatest joy. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers: Judy Starcher and husband Richard of Greenwich, OH; Regina Noble of Greenwich, OH; Lanny Whitaker and wife B.J. of Ashland, OH; Alma Carney and husband Joe of North Fairfield, OH; Rita Bowling and husband Dee of New London, OH; LaDonna Hicks and husband Steve of Clyde, OH; and April Graves and husband Ron of New Bern, NC. He was preceded in death by his sister Louanna Hall and brother Dan Whitaker (wife Regina). Linzie dedicated nearly 40 years to the corrugated box industry, specializing in sales, service, and rebuild work. He recently celebrated 30 years with Corrugated Replacements in Blairsville, GA. Linzie took great pride in his work and genuinely enjoyed helping his customers, many of whom became lifelong friends. He gave back to his community as a volunteer coach for the Union County 4-H Shotgun Team while his son participated in middle and high school. A proud Ohio native, Linzie was an avid fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes, but he also cheered for the University of Georgia Bulldogs on Saturdays as well. Above all, Linzie was a loving and devoted husband, a fantastic father, and an incredibly proud grandfather. His favorite pastime in recent years was sharing stories and photos of his grandson, Stetson, with everyone he met. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W Main Street, New London, Ohio 44851, with the funeral service immediately following.
