Obituary

Lois Maxine (Clawson) Beach, 93, of New London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2023, at UH Ashland Samaritan Hospital.  She was born on August 12, 1929, in Nova, Ohio, to the late Caroline (Anderson) and Carl Clawson Sr.  She was a graduate of Ruggles School.

Lois was best described in one word as "cute".  She was proud of her family and cherished spending time with them.  She enjoyed baking and often used those talents in service to others.  Lois was a longtime member of the Ruggles Church, where she was part of the Ruggles Church Guild, a group that organized many meals and other community outreach events.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (Judith) Beach of New London, Donald (Sonya) Beach of New London, Nancy (Michael) Earick of Ashland and Patricia (Chad) Porter of New London; grandchildren, Tim (Penny) Beach, Tonya (Bill) Fuller, Heidi (Robert) Maloy, Holly (Scott) Robenalt, Michelle (Greg) Ropp, Hannah (Josh) Moffett, Brennan (Tiffany) Earick, Demi (Patrick) Friend and Delaney Porter; 18 great-grandchildren, Collin (Maria) Beach, Jordyn and Adalyn Fuller, Gavin and Katelyn Maloy, Kotiana and Nadia Barber, Dani, Sullivan, Wade, and Tess Ropp, Owen, Milley, and Max Moffett, Braelynn, Beaudan, and Branson Earick, Wilson Friend and baby Ropp, to arrive in October; siblings, Joan Schuller of Wakeman and Francis Simonson of New London; nephew and niece, Gary (Margie) Krause and Pamela (Robert) Sedlock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Daniel Beach, and siblings, Gertrude Clawson, Carl "Bud" (Alice) Clawson, Leona (Maurice) Fishbaugh, Edith (Don) Sutherland, brothers-in-law, Bill Schuller and Junior "Butch" Simonson along with her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Junior Krause.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Eastman Funeral Home, New London, Ohio, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., and again on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Ruggles Church, 1364 US Route 224, New London, Ohio, from 10 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. service.  Burial will follow the service in Ruggles Cemetery.  Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Ruggles Church.  Online expressions of sympathy to the family may be made by visiting www.eastmanfuneralhome.com
