Lois Gray, 84, of Clarksfield, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at home after a one year illness. She was born on January 2, 1927, in Cleveland, to the late Henry and Georgia (Austin) Sanford. She helped with the family farm and enjoyed raising her horses. Lois also enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She bowled in the women's league and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Lois is survived by her daughter, Jane Gray of Clarksfield; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and sister, Joan (Mack) Watts of Savannah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Gray; sons, Austin and Dean Gray and brother, Bruce Sanford. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow at Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
