Lois B. Tackett

Lois B. Tackett, 84, of Greenwich, Ohio, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 19, 2025, after a medical emergency at University Hospitals Main Campus in Cleveland. She was born on August 14, 1941, in McDowell, Kentucky, to the late Charlie and Pricey (Jones) Newsome.

Lois was the last of 6 children to pass on in the Newsome family. She enjoyed gardening, especially fresh tomatoes and vegetables, making wooden crafts with her late husband Cline, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with her family, and dog “JoJo”.

Faith was a priority in Lois’s life, and when she was able, she often attended the Ripley Church in Greenwich. In addition to raising and caring for her family, she was also a nurse’s aide for Hillside Acres in Willard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Cline Tackett, in 2021, her five siblings, and her daughter, Lora Thomas.

She is survived by her children, Otis (Lisa) Hoover, Judy Tackett, Tony (Kim) Tackett, and Steve Tackett; her grandchildren, Dustin and Trey Hoover, Nathan Hammond, Paige Kujawa, Jeff, Jonathan, Samantha, Anthony, and Seth Tackett, Tayler Conger, Brooke Osborn, and Haley and Jalynn Tackett; and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many other close family members.

A visitation for Lois will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Eastman Funeral Home, in Greenwich, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Wireman officiating. Burial will follow the service in Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of the funeral home.
