Obituary

Lois Ann Baker (nee Winfield), 83, of Rochester, died Monday, November 17, 2025 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. Born on November 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Betty (nee Wolfe) Winfield. Lois was a lifelong resident of Rochester and a 1960 graduate of New London High School.

Lois worked for a brief time in Washington, D.C. but spent most of her adult life working alongside her husband Ron on the farm and raising her family. She was a member of the Rochester United Methodist Church and was active with the Rochester Homecoming. Lois volunteered with Well Help and was a poll worker for local elections. She enjoyed spending time tending her garden and mowing the lawn as well as tracing her family genealogy.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Ronald Baker; children, Cheryl (Jim) Shurling, of Ludowici, GA, Jamie (Regina) Baker, of Litchfield, Gail (Bob) Tallhamer, of Wakeman, Jeff (Dawn) Baker, of Elyria, Tim Baker, of Elyria, and Michael Baker, of Wellington; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her sister Jean Speicher.

Friends and family will be received Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington.
