Obituary

Loren Fay Taylor, 91, of Marion, Alabama and formerly of Penfield, died Friday, January 6, 2012 following an extended illness. Born in Penfield, Ohio on May 29, 1920, Loren was a son of the late Ralph S. and Mildred (nee Jameyson) Taylor. He proudly served his country in WWII in the Army. Loren worked for HRB Singer, Nabisco and Jeff Hawbaker Construction. He was a member of the Methodist Church in both Marion, Alabama and Lodi, Ohio and also belonged to the Chatham VFW. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Doris (nee Pierce); children, Sandy Workman, of Marion, AL, David Taylor, of Prosper, TX, and Duane Taylor, of Vienna, VA; grandchildren, Steve Workman, Ben Workman, Leigh Ann Holman, Matt Taylor, Brian Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Alexandra Taylor, Christine Taylor, Gayle Meeks and Andy Williams; 8 great grandchildren and brother, Sam Taylor, of Spencer. He was preceded in death by his son, Darryl Taylor and sister, Joan Spies. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 14 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with Pastor Gerry Gates officiating. Burial will follow at Penfield Cemetery with military rites. The Taylor family suggests donations in memory of Loren be made to the Marion United Methodist Church, 110 Washington Street, Marion, AL 36756.
